Markhams

We are a family-run plumbing and heating business based in Leicestershire, proudly serving the local community and surrounding areas. With a wealth of experience across all aspects of plumbing and heating, our team of three skilled engineers is dedicated to providing top-quality workmanship and outstanding customer service.

Markhams is led by Russell, who has over 40 years of experience in the trade. Originally a sole trader, Russell welcomed his son Alex into the business full-time in 2014, expanding the team and ensuring the continuation of family values at the heart of our work.

In 2020, James joined the team straight from school at the age of 16. His eagerness to learn, coupled with his strong work ethic and punctuality, quickly impressed both Russell and Alex. Today, James is an integral part of the Markhams family.

In 2023, we underwent a significant rebrand—the most transformative change since Russell founded the company in 1994. After careful thought and planning, we transitioned from ‘Russell Markham & Son’ to simply ‘Markhams.’ This change reflects our desire for a modern, professional identity that honours not only Russell’s legacy but also the contributions of Alex and James, who are equally vital to our team's success.

At Markhams, we are committed to combining our decades of experience with a forward-thinking approach to deliver the best possible service for our customers.

Just a basic boiler swap, neatened up and registered for 5 year parts and labour warranty ⚒️
A beautiful bathroom completed in wigston, this room was stripped back to brick and built up from nothing. 🚽 🛀 Tiling was carried out by the customers tiler materials supplied by @willbondleicester 🛠️

That’s the final job completed for our year end. Everything completed and carried out by our very professional experienced team. We’ve had our roofer, our electrician, our decorator and our plasterer. Everything else was completed by ours

Downstairs toilet completely overhauled by Russell, this job was plastered, tiled and plumbed in all by us. 👏🏻🤩
A massive job for us just ticked off, Full central heating all pipes chased in the wall, all in copper. A full wetroom with wall tiling carried out by ourselves. A massive thankyou to @robinsons_tiling who made a beautiful job on the wetroom floor 🚽

    Wanted to say what a truly exceptional job Russ did on my parents new bathroom. They wanted a simple bathroom which was more accessible that their old one which they had over 40 years ago. The new shower, sink and toilet are great and the walkin shower is an excellent addition. All the work was co ordinated whilst they were on holiday meaning it was done in just 4 days. Russ came back to fit some extra bits they wanted and they are thrilled with it. Great to know that the bathroom is safe and accessible. Great company, would absolutely recommend.

    My boiler had a water leak. I was recommended to Markhams (Alex). Alex was easy to contact and responded quickly. He gave his availability and called round when he said he would. He even messaged to confirm he was on his way which was helpful. Alex was clearly knowledgeable. He explained the problem clearly and fixed the issue quickly and efficiently.     I had a boiler service carried out and a new Hive heating system installed, and I couldn't be happier with the work. Alex was punctual, professional, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He explained everything in simple terms, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was set up perfectly before leaving. One of my radiators was not heating up and Alex sorted that out while he was servicing the boiler. 10/10 service. The Hive system was installed neatly and works flawlessly. Excellent service from start to finish, highly recommended.

    Our shower stopped working, and Russell came out almost immediately to fix it. Whilst here he also sorted a dripping tap that had been annoying us for ages, and came back the next day to do the same for a dodgy toilet cistern. He even sorted out a guttering issue. He always looks to repair, rather than replace, if that is better value for the customer. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

    Answered the phone out of hours. Arranged to come first thing the next morning as not an emergency. We had no running water but had water to drink.
